Public sources indicate that the actor’s motivations are ideological rather than financial, aiming to expose extremist content and disrupt platforms that host such material.

The actor’s known targeting focuses on far‑right social media services, exemplified by the compromise of Gab, a platform based in the United States that hosts a large user base of QAnon adherents, white nationalists, and supporters of former President Donald Trump. The stated strategic objective in the Gab incident was to extract and reveal the platform’s internal data—including public and private posts, user profiles, and password information—to enable analysis of hate speech, disinformation, and extremist networks.
