Description

Paylogix, LLC operates as a software‑as‑a‑service provider and insurance administrator that manages employee benefits enrollment for insurance providers from its headquarters in Westbury, New York. In November 2025 the company experienced a disruption to certain computer systems and services, which it later confirmed resulted from a cyber incident. An internal investigation determined that files on the Paylogix network may have been viewed or taken between November 13 and November 18, 2025. After completing its review of the affected files and reconciling the records with its customers, Paylogix began notifying those customers on or around July 20, 2026, and individuals started receiving data breach notification letters shortly thereafter.

The information that may have been exposed consists of personal data that individuals supplied when enrolling in employee benefits through a current or former employer, a category of information that Paylogix holds because its services are used during the benefits enrollment process. Affected individuals are primarily current or former employees of Paylogix’s insurance‑provider clients, with the company estimating that approximately 634 Rhode Island residents could be impacted and indicating that the total number of affected individuals nationwide is expected to be larger. The breach raised concerns about an increased risk of identity theft and fraud for those whose data may have been accessed.

In response to the incident, Paylogix took steps to confirm the security of its systems and conducted a thorough investigation, after which it implemented additional technical security measures and stated its intention to continue enhancing its security posture. The company reported the event to law enforcement and offered affected individuals twelve months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company, noting that enrollment must be completed within ninety days of the date on the notice. Edelson Lechtzin LLP, a national class action law firm, launched an investigation into potential legal claims arising from the breach and is providing free, confidential case evaluations to those who received a notification.
