Description
Between July 24 and July 30, 2025, American Lending Center experienced a ransomware‑related security incident. A forensic investigation determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to the company’s computer network, deployed ransomware, and accessed files containing personal identifying information. The company became aware of the breach around July 2025. The intrusion allowed the attacker to view and potentially exfiltrate sensitive data stored on the network.

The breach affected approximately 123,158 individuals whose personal information was exposed. The compromised data included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and other personal identifying details. Individuals who received a data breach notification from American Lending Center were advised that they may face an elevated risk of identity theft and fraud. The exposure of such information increases the likelihood of unauthorized financial accounts being opened in the victims’ names.
In response to the incident, the national class action law firm Edelson Lechtzin LLP announced an investigation into potential data privacy claims arising from the breach. The firm is evaluating whether a class action lawsuit can be pursued on behalf of those whose personal data may have been compromised. Edelson Lechtzin LLP stated that it will assess affected individuals’ rights and possible claims at no cost to them. American Lending Center is a California‑based private lender founded in 2009 that provides small business and investment financing across the United States.
