Description

Between July 7, 2025 and September 9, 2025 an unauthorized actor gained access to the computer systems of Affordable Mortgage Advisors LLC, which does business as HMA Mortgage. The company discovered the intrusion on or about August 25, 2025 and subsequently engaged outside cybersecurity professionals to conduct a forensic investigation. After completing a comprehensive review of the affected data on August 21, 2026 the firm determined that personal information may have been compromised. Affordable Mortgage Advisors disclosed the incident to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on September 18, 2026 and reported the breach to other state regulators as required.

Regulatory filings associated with the disclosure indicate that at least 957 Texas residents and one Massachusetts resident were identified as potentially affected, with additional individuals possibly impacted nationwide. The information that may have been accessed includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers and financial account information such as credit and debit card numbers.
