Description
OnApril 1, 2025, the Administración Portuaria Integral de Baja California Sur (API‑BCS) issued a public statement informing citizens and media of a cybersecurity incident. The decentralized state entity confirmed that it had been the target of a directed cyber attack against its digital information system. In the statement, API‑BCS emphasized that the attack did not produce any economic impact on the institution. It also assured that no public resources were lost as a result of the incident. The only effect identified by the administration was a temporary inability to access the digital information stored in its systems.

To maintain continuity and transparency in the management of public funds, API‑BCS noted that it possesses complete physical, accounting, and documentary backups of all information corresponding to the 2024 fiscal year. Thanks to these backups, the organization is carrying out the recovery of the data in its digital system. In order to fulfill the obligation to submit the 2024 Public Account on time and in full, API‑BCS formally requested a thirty‑day extension from the State Congress, through the office of the State Executive, citing the applicable regulations. The administration reiterated its commitment to legality, transparency, and accountability. API‑BCS stated that it will continue to provide truthful and timely information to the citizens of Baja California Sur and to the oversight entities responsible for fiscal supervision.
