Description

On July 15, 2025, the Corporación de Promoción Económica ConQuito reported that its website suffered a denial‑of‑service (DoS) attack while the institution was delivering turnos for the Feria de Empleo. The attack was described as a malicious attempt to make the computer system inaccessible to legitimate users. ConQuito communicated the incident this morning through its official channel. At the time of the incident, ConQuito had more than two thousand vacancies available for the job fair. The DoS activity prevented citizens from accessing the turnero system that had been enabled for the employment fair. Consequently, the website and associated services became unavailable to users attempting to consult the shift assignments.

Because of the attack, users were unable to reach the turnero for the Feria de Empleo and could not access any other services offered by ConQuito through its web portal. ConQuito stated that, at the moment of the report, it was working to restore the affected server and to continue attending the citizens’ requirements. The article noted that the situation was still developing as the organization pursued recovery efforts. No further details about the attack’s origin, duration, or specific technical mitigations were provided in the source.
