Description

The Ministerio de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (Mitic) confirmed through its CERT‑PY that cyber incidents had been detected affecting the computer systems of various public institutions. The detection triggered the activation of Mitic’s incident response protocols. Mitic began working in a coordinated manner with each affected institution to contain the incidents. Containment actions were undertaken to stop further spread of the cyber activity. Mitic also initiated mitigation measures to reduce the immediate impact of the attacks.

The stated primary objectives of the response were to guarantee the integrity of information, ensure the continuity of public services, and strengthen the State’s cybersecurity capabilities. Mitic emphasized that efforts were ongoing to analyze the full scope and reach of the cyber incidents. Continuous work was being carried out to mitigate the risk of propagation or escalation of the detected incidents. These efforts aimed to minimize the impact on operations and preserve the stability of affected systems. The notice also referenced related difficulties accessing a specific procedure on the Portal Paraguay, indicating that the cyber activity had disrupted at least one public online service.
