In 2015, Tesla Motors was the victim of a cyber attack that compromised several of its online accounts, including Twitter and media relations email addresses. The hackers, who went by the handle @Autismsquad;RIPPRGANG, used a technique called "Message Manipulation" to gain access to the accounts.
