The organisation filed a police report with local law enforcement and received confirmation from a Meta employee that the account had been hacked. After regaining control, the charity removed the malicious posts, restored its original logo, and temporarily paused accepting monetary donations to verify whether any supporters had inadvertently contributed to the scam.
