The breach resulted in unauthorized access to sensitive user data stored within the forum's databases. Compromised information included user identifiers, associated email addresses, and encrypted passwords protected using hash and salt combinations. Administrative metadata such as users' last login timestamps and post counts was also accessed during this incident.

Following detection by forum moderators, MrExcel.com took immediate action by shutting down the affected platform to contain the breach. The organization restored forum operations using available backups to recover functionality. Malicious code introduced by the attackers was identified and removed from the compromised systems.
