The commission’s online portal came under attack on 14 May 2025 when suspected hackers originating from Pakistan gained temporary control of the site for about one hour. During the breach, the attackers displayed messages that glorified Pakistan and referenced an intention to attack India, prompting an immediate response from state information technology officials. The portal was restored within less than an hour, and officials reported that no serious damage or data loss was detected as a result of the incident. In the aftermath, the state government announced plans to upgrade servers and implement additional digital shields to protect official websites from similar threats. The chief minister of Mizoram reassured the public that the site had been securely restored and stressed the importance of vigilance and cybersecurity awareness among users. This event is viewed as part of a broader pattern of attempts to compromise government domains amid heightened India‑Pakistan tensions.
