Profile narrative
Sprout Social operates as a social media analytics platform. The company provides tools that enable organizations to monitor, measure, and analyze activity across various social media channels. Its services are designed to help businesses understand audience engagement, track campaign performance, and derive insights from social data. Sprout Social’s headquarters is located in the United States of America. The platform is used by a range of clients seeking to optimize their social media presence and reporting.
In June 2026, Sprout Social was identified as one of the organizations affected by a breach of the business intelligence provider Klue. Attackers exploited a compromised legacy credential to access Klue’s integration infrastructure and stole OAuth tokens used for its Battlecards app. Those tokens were subsequently used to impersonate Klue within connected Salesforce environments, leading to the exfiltration of customer data from several firms, including Sprout Social. Klue responded by revoking the compromised credentials and tokens, removing unauthorized code, disabling impacted integrations, notifying law enforcement, and engaging CrowdStrike for forensic analysis. The intrusion was later claimed by the extortion group Icarus, which set a deadline for affected clients before threatening to release the stolen information.
