The Ministry of National Defense of Romania is the government body responsible for shaping and implementing the country’s defence policy, overseeing the Romanian Armed Forces, and managing national security matters related to military affairs. In May 2022, the ministry’s English‑language website was subjected to a distributed denial‑of‑service attack that temporarily disrupted access to the site. The incident was promptly detected and countered by the ministry’s Cyber Command, which employed technical measures to neutralise the traffic flood and restore normal service. The successful repulsion of the attack highlighted the operational readiness of the ministry’s cyber defence capabilities and underscored the importance of continuous monitoring and rapid response to protect governmental online assets.
