The incident compromised personal data of over 120,000 individuals, predominantly SAF personnel who had participated in its training programmes. The exposed information included full names, national identification numbers, birth dates, home addresses and email addresses. Following the breach, the organisation isolated the affected server and initiated a forensic investigation. HMI Institute stated that, based on the investigation, there was a low likelihood of data exfiltration despite the encryption. The event contributed to broader discussions about vendor cybersecurity standards within Singapore’s defence sector.
