In October 2022 the network was targeted by a ransomware attack carried out by the ALPHV (BlackCat) criminal group; the incident interrupted regular broadcasts, prompted the attackers to demand roughly five million dollars for a decryption tool and the non‑release of stolen data, and resulted in the publication of proof‑of‑access files containing internal documents, despite the absence of any public acknowledgment or statement from RecordTV regarding the breach.
