Critical functions like police operations and passport issuance reportedly remained functional despite the attack. The perpetrators demanded a ransom payment. The city administration publicly refused to pay the demanded ransom, citing principle and estimating the financial damage caused by the attack at approximately 200,000 euros. Following the incident, the Mairie de Sartrouville filed an official complaint, prompting an investigation by a specialised cybercrime unit to identify the attackers and understand the full scope of the breach.
