DailyQuiz, also known by its alias, is an organisation headquartered in Israel that provides an online service requiring user registration. The service collects user information such as email addresses and passwords to enable account access. Based on the scale of the 2021 data breach, the platform had accumulated approximately thirteen million registered users. This user base indicates a notable reach within the digital market where the service operates.

On January 1, 2021, an attacker breached DailyQuiz's database and exfiltrated personal data belonging to its users. The compromised data included approximately eight point three million passwords stored in plaintext format, together with email addresses and IP addresses. The attacker subsequently sold the stolen data through hacking forums and Telegram channels. Later, the data was leaked publicly, making it widely accessible. DailyQuiz acknowledged the breach through a website notification. The company provided no further details about the incident following the initial acknowledgment. The exposure of plaintext passwords in the breach highlighted a critical security failure in the organisation's security practices. This incident underscored the risks associated with storing user credentials without encryption.
