Profile

Dolomiti Bus, known also by its alias, is an organisation headquartered in Italy that provides mobility solutions to passengers in the region. Its core offering includes the facilitation of public transport access through a mobile ticketing platform supplied by the external provider My Cicero. The service enables users to purchase, store and validate tickets via a smartphone application, supporting everyday travel needs. While the exact scope of its transport network is not detailed in the available sources, the organisation’s branding as Dolomiti Bus indicates a focus on regional bus operations. The company relies on third‑party technology to deliver the ticketing experience, integrating the provider’s system into its own customer‑facing channels. This arrangement allows Dolomiti Bus to offer a digital alternative to traditional paper tickets and to communicate service updates directly to travellers.

On 29 March 2025 Dolomiti Bus disclosed that its mobile ticketing provider My Cicero suffered a data breach caused by unidentified external actors who gained access to the provider’s servers. The intrusion resulted in a temporary disruption of the ticketing service and the unauthorised transfer of personal data, including names, surnames, gender, dates of birth, places of birth, tax codes and contact information, to a remote cloud environment. Importantly, the breach did not affect credit card data, which remained secure throughout the incident. Following the discovery, My Cicero contained the breach, implemented additional preventive measures to harden its infrastructure, and began monitoring for further anomalous activity. Dolomiti Bus promptly informed its users of the event through an official communication channel, detailing the nature of the compromised information and the steps taken by the provider. The organisation stated that it continues to monitor the situation in collaboration with My Cicero to ensure the ongoing security and reliability of its mobile ticketing service.
