Telstra acknowledged that high‑level business customer information may have been exposed but disputed claims that sensitive personal data was stolen. Hackers leaked excerpts containing phone numbers and addresses to support extortion demands, threatening to release further company documents unless a ransom was paid. The incident affected several of Schepisi’s clients, including Nestle, a financial services firm, a radio station, and a property management company. The breach highlighted the volume of subscriber data the company handles, as evidenced by the scale of the compromised SIM card records.
