National Disaster Response Force

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is a specialized agency of the Government of India tasked with responding to natural and man‑made disasters. It operates under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs and was constituted under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. Its primary functions include search and rescue, evacuation, relief distribution, and restoration of essential services in the aftermath of events such as floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear incidents.
