In July 2022 the ministry’s website experienced a distributed denial‑of‑service attack that blocked access for users outside Israel while domestic service remained uninterrupted; the pro‑Iranian Altahrea Team claimed responsibility, citing geopolitical motives. The incident was addressed jointly by the ministry’s IT team and the national e‑Government unit, which implemented traffic filtering to mitigate the flood of foreign requests and restore normal availability for international visitors seeking health‑related information. This episode highlighted the ministry’s reliance on digital infrastructure for public outreach and demonstrated its capacity to respond to cyber threats in coordination with national cyber‑defence entities.
