A more recent attack in April 2025, attributed to a Russian hacker group, caused limited accessibility and delayed response times for the website and related applications. Federal cybersecurity agencies have linked the same group to a prior intrusion on Dresden’s web portal and to similar attempts against other German municipalities. These events highlight the city’s role as a target for politically motivated cyber activity and its reliance on defensive measures to maintain service continuity.
