NoName057 claimed responsibility via Telegram, citing retaliation for Belgium’s planned military support to Ukraine and describing the country as Russophobic. The group indicated further intent to disrupt Belgium’s upcoming local elections, signalling a broader motive beyond the immediate outages. Authorities characterised the assault as a typical volumetric overload attempt, assessing it as non‑dangerous despite the inconvenience caused. This incident marked the second wave of attacks within a two‑day period, following earlier strikes on provincial government websites. The event highlighted the organisation’s exposure to politically motivated cyber threats targeting its online services.
