Midlands State University

Midlands State University is a public higher education institution located in Gweru, Zimbabwe. It provides teaching, learning, and research services across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The cybersecurity breach on 4 November 2018 exposed weaknesses in its ICT systems, leading to the temporary shutdown of online services such as the Student Representative Council election portal. After the incident, the university implemented corrective actions to strengthen security before restoring normal operations.
