Electricity Transmission System Operator of North Macedonia

MEPSO, also known by its Cyrillic alias МЕПСΟ, is the electricity transmission system operator for the Republic of North Macedonia. Its headquarters are situated in the country. As the designated transmission system operator, MEPSO is responsible for the operation of the national electricity transmission network. The organization’s role involves managing the flow of electricity across the grid to ensure that supply meets demand. MEPSO carries out its duties in accordance with the national energy regulations that govern transmission activities.

On 1 March 2024, MEPSO publicly confirmed that it had been the target of a cyberattack aimed at its information technology systems.
