The Akira ransomware group claimed responsibility for the breach of Tietoevry’s hosted systems. The attack caused prolonged IT system failures at Rusta, which disrupted its sales operations. Service outages persisted for several days, leaving some systems only partially restored after the incident. Despite the disruption, January payroll distributions remained secure because they had been processed before the attack occurred. The broader Tietoevry incident also impacted approximately 60,000 employees across 120 government agencies and universities, hindering functions such as sick leave registration, vacation applications, and pay slip access.
