The cyberattack was explicitly framed as retaliation against prior offensive actions conducted by the Armenian hacking group known as MMCA. This incident underscored the organisation's position as a high-value target within the protracted cyber conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, a digital extension of the long-standing Nagorno-Karabakh territorial dispute.
