The Auditoría General del Poder Ejecutivo (AGPE) is the supreme audit institution responsible for overseeing the financial and operational activities of Paraguay’s executive branch. It conducts external audits of government entities to verify the legality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the use of public resources. Its work includes financial audits, performance audits, and compliance reviews aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in public administration. AGPE reports its findings to the appropriate governmental authorities and contributes to the national system of internal control.

The organisation is headquartered in Paraguay, operating as a public sector entity under the executive power. It serves the Paraguayan state and citizenry by providing independent oversight of how public funds are managed and spent. In June 2025, AGPE experienced a cybersecurity incident when unauthorized access to its public portal was detected, alongside similar breaches at other government agencies. The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology activated its incident response protocol after identifying the intrusion, which was traced to stolen user credentials harvested by infostealer malware. Investigations confirmed that the breach was fully and successfully contained, with no further compromise reported.
