Although employee workstations were compromised, core servers remained unaffected, limiting the disruption to administrative functions while prompting a law‑enforcement investigation. The incident highlighted the importance of robust backup strategies and incident‑response planning for small public entities. Following the attack, the municipality has continued to strengthen its cybersecurity posture to protect citizen data and ensure continuity of essential services.
