The attackers demanded payment within a 240‑hour window, threatening to leak the stolen data and launch disruptive DDoS attacks if their demands were not met. They claimed that encrypted files could only be recovered using their proprietary decryption tool, a claim they substantiated by publishing proof such as employee identifiers and contract screenshots. This incident was part of a wider Avaddon campaign that simultaneously targeted organisations across the finance, government, and healthcare sectors globally. The attack highlighted the firm’s exposure to cyber threats due to the sensitive nature of the data it routinely manages.
