In July 2024, the webshop experienced a data breach that compromised an employee’s credentials. The breach allowed attackers to access customer names, email addresses, and shipping details. Financial data and passwords were reported to remain secure during the incident. Initial assessments suggested the breach might affect hundreds of thousands of individuals. Subsequent investigation revealed that only 221 legitimate users were actually impacted, with the majority of exposed records consisting of test entries or fake data generated by bots.

Following the breach, Kütyübazár reported the incident to law enforcement and data protection authorities. The company also notified the affected customers about the exposure of their personal data. In response, it implemented a series of security upgrades to strengthen its defenses. One notable upgrade was the replacement of its open‑source operating system. This action was taken after a prior cybersecurity review had found no critical vulnerabilities in the system.
