The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is the military organization responsible for the defense of the State of Israel, with its headquarters located in Israel. The IDF has also faced distributed denial‑of‑service attacks from hacktivist collectives such as Anonymous, which targeted its websites in 2014 alongside other Israeli government portals. Additionally, its Twitter account was compromised by the Syrian Electronic Army in 2014, resulting in the posting of false warnings about a nuclear leak.
