In July 2025, Save the Elephants experienced a cyber attack in which attackers posed as US podcast representatives to gain unauthorised access to its official Facebook pages, disrupting contact with hundreds of thousands of supporters. Following the breach, the organisation collaborated with Meta to restore control and implemented stronger security protocols to protect its digital communications. The July 2025 breach simultaneously compromised the Facebook pages of Save the Elephants and ElephantVoices, underscoring a shared digital risk.
