Rechtspraak, also known as the Dutch Judiciary, is the judicial branch of the government of the Netherlands responsible for administering justice across the country. The attack was attributed to hacktivists with pro‑Russian sympathies, although the exact perpetrators remained unidentified. In response, the judiciary filed a criminal report with police and prepared for the possibility of a multi‑day service interruption, while also noting similar difficulties on the Dutch Senate website. This incident highlights the increasing cyber threats faced by public institutions and the judiciary’s need to maintain resilient digital services.
