Profile

The Théâtre de la Cité internationale is a theater based in France, operating under the alias Théâtre de la Cité internationale. The venue is located within the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, a campus that hosts residential and academic facilities. As a theater, it provides a space for live performing arts productions, including theater, dance, and music performances, which are offered to audiences through ticketed events. The organization’s programming consists of a variety of shows that are scheduled throughout the year and made accessible to the public. Its role as a performance venue places it within the French cultural sector, where it contributes to the local offering of artistic events.

On 28 June 2024, the Théâtre de la Cité internationale experienced a cybersecurity incident that originated from a breach at its ticketing software provider, Forum Sirius. According to a report published by Solutions Numériques, attackers exploited the provider’s systems to obtain production server credentials, which then enabled unauthorized access to the theater’s customer data. The compromised information included names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, and account passwords of individuals who had purchased tickets online. The organization confirmed that the attack resulted in a loss of data confidentiality and promptly initiated security resets while implementing additional technical and legal measures to mitigate the impact. After completing these remedial actions, the theater declared the incident resolved. The ticketing software involved in the breach is reported to be used by approximately 400 cultural venues, indicating that the vulnerability affected a wide network of organizations beyond the Théâtre de la Cité internationale. The episode underscored the reliance of cultural institutions on third‑party service providers for ticketing and the associated risks to personal data.
